Laryngology has developed immensely as a subspecialty of otorhinolaryngology over the last three decades. Today, the ultimate goal of a laryngologist is preservation or restoration of good voice. Care of the professional voice is highly demanding and thereby phonosurgery is fast emerging as a superspecialty.
